Centre for Technology and Global Affairs - About Us


The Centre’s academic mission is

(a) to shape scholarly debates and opinions in the interdisciplinary study of the impact of new technology on international relations, government, and society; and

(b) to support and train researchers and practitioners in this area, with a special emphasis on integrating technological issues into political science.

Our policy-oriented mission is

(a) to provide leadership in creating new knowledge on practical problems affecting the welfare and security of governments, citizens, and private enterprises; and

(b) to influence major policy decisions and opinions in these arenas.

Our network-building mission is to create a unique forum for discussion and cooperation on the political and societal impact of technology. The Centre

(a) organizes conferences, workshops, and executive sessions with representatives from leading technology companies and public bodies;

(b) includes an internal Advisory Board comprising a selection of these representatives; and

(c) actively seeks to build partnerships with relevant technology companies, international institutions, law firms, consulting firms, research centres, and other universities.
