The Centre generates policy-relevant knowledge on the impact of technology on international relations, government, and society. Overall, it seeks to
- Catalyze change in the world of decision makers, technology developers, journalists, and other shapers of public opinion;
- Identify the security implications of emerging technology for international actors, forecast how it might alter the future security environment, and recommend strategies to deal with these implications;
- Design new metrics for assessing existing organizational capacities, shortcomings, and new opportunities for welfare and influence within government and industry;
- Provide concrete guidance on the development of national policies and international cooperative mechanisms to augment the beneficial applications and limit the security risks of new technological developments.
