I am the Clayman Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in Politics at St Anne’s College, University of Oxford.
My research interests include public opinion, protests, and authoritarian politics. Drawing on evidence from contemporary Russia, I examine how non-democratic incumbents manage public opinion and deflect blame when performance is poor. Other projects investigate the political consequences of remittances and private safety nets in Central-Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia.
In 2016-2017 I was a Fulbright-Schuman pre-doctoral fellow at the Department of Political Science, Columbia University in the city of New York. I read for a DPhil (PhD) in Politics and an MPhil in Russian and Eastern European Studies at the University of Oxford, and hold a B.A. in Political Sciences from the University of Cyprus.
