Professor Alexander Betts comments on the implications of this year's crisis of migration in Europe

Alexander Betts has appeared on 'The Compass' radio programme on the BBC World Service (6 August), discussing Europe's recent migration crisis.

"These are unprecedented numbers of people coming into Europe from outside," Alexander said, adding that "I think, politically, public opinion was taken by surprise."
