Professor Gwendolyn Sasse writes about Russia on the 'world stage'

Gwendolyn Sasse has written for 'Judy Dempsey's Strategic Europe' (30 September) as part of Carnegie Europe online, in a piece asking the question: Is Russia Back on the World Stage?

Gwendolyn writes, "When did Russia leave the world stage? Equating Russia’s role with one belligerent appearance by the country’s president, Vladimir Putin, at the UN General Assembly is an overly narrow conception of global politics, particularly in view of the internationally reverberating standoff between the West and Russia over the war in Ukraine."
