Prof. Soares de Oliveira on panel at the 'Africa Means Business' FT Africa Summit

Moderated by BBC presenter and correspondent, Nancy Kacungira, Prof. Ricardo Soares de Oliveira took part in a discussion on ‘Changing of the Guard in Southern Africa’ with Pravin Gordhan, Minister of Public Enterprises, Republic of South Africa; Hon. Professor Mthuli Ncube, Minister of Finance & Economic Development, Republic of Zimbabwe; and Hendrik du Toit, CEO, Investec.

The panel analysed last year’s extraordinary events in Angola, South Africa and Zimbabwe, and the fundamental changes of both personnel and policy direction that reverberated around the continent and beyond.

The FT Africa Summit, now in its 5th year, features high-profile speakers in business, politics and economics, as well as heads of state. This year’s speakers included the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. Nana Akufo-Addo; the President of the Republic of Gabon, H.E. Ali Bongo Ondimba, and the Executive Chairman of the Institute for Global Change, and former Prime Minister, Tony Blair.
