The Department of Politics and International Relations (DPIR), in association with Brasenose College, is seeking to appoint an Associate Professor in Comparative Politics or Political Sociology. 

The successful candidate will be expected to conduct advanced research; to teach, supervise, and examine in Comparative Politics or Political Sociology at the graduate and undergraduate level; to play a part in the administrative work of the Department and the College; and to act as a College adviser for graduate students. 

Associate Professor is the main academic career grade at Oxford with a focus on research and teaching, spanning the full range of professorial grades in the USA. Applications are welcome from both early career and established scholars with a strong background in comparative politics or political sociology, broadly understood. Applicants should have a completed a doctorate in Politics or a closely related field, and should demonstrate an outstanding portfolio of research and publications in Comparative Politics or Political Sociology, as well as an exciting future research programme. 

The post will be held in conjunction with a Tutorial Fellowship at Brasenose College. The post-holder will receive additional College benefits including either College accommodation or a College housing allowance of £15,084 pa, which is paid as taxable, pensionable income. The post-holder will be assigned a room for teaching and research in the Department of Politics and International Relations, Manor Road Building, Manor Road, and a teaching room in Brasenose College.
