About the role

Applications are welcomed for an Executive Assistant to join the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism (RISJ). This is an exciting opportunity to join an outstanding team committed to connecting academic scholarship of the highest standards to major issues of relevance to journalists and editors from around the world.

As Executive Assistant, you will manage the Director’s day-to-day diaries. This will include arranging in person and online meetings, managing calls and conference access for speakers and attendees, organising travel, ensuring the necessary papers are in place for meetings, as well as helping with forward planning. All of these activities will involve exercising a considerable degree of judgement and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within the University and beyond. You will also provide administrative support where needed.

The position is fixed-term until 31 December 2023 and is offered on a full time basis.

About you

You will have experience working as an Executive Assistant, with an ability to manage and prioritise a varied and busy workload to deadlines. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and comfort in liaising with people at all levels, internal and external to the University. You will also have excellent organisational abilities and efficiency, coupled with sound judgement and the demonstrated ability to use initiative and to assume a high level of personal responsibility in dealing with particular issues and to facilitate constructive solutions to requests or problems.
