Applications are welcomed for a Research Support Officer to join the Research Support team in the Department of Politics and International Relations. This is an exciting opportunity to shape a new role within one of the largest politics and international relations departments in the world recognised internationally for its broad-ranging and influential research.

Reporting to the Acting Research Manager, you will support the research activities of the department including pre- and post-award administration, acting as project administrator to one of the Department’s research projects, organising academic research seminars and showcase events and servicing committees. You will contribute to the provision of an outstanding service to our PIs and research staff.

The position is a fixed-term contract for six months to cover a secondment, and is offered on a full-time basis.

About you

The successful candidate will be educated to at least A-Level standard and have experience of supporting research projects or equivalent as well as excellent organisational skills.

You will have a high level of attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a high degree of computer literacy, and the ability to work flexibly, using judgement and initiative proactively.

Experience of working within the University or another higher education institution is desirable.
