Virginia is a DPhil candidate in International Relations at Balliol College, University of Oxford. Her doctoral research focuses on the role of the technology private sector as a site of great power competition between the United States and China, addressing private firms' geopolitical postures, involvement in third countries' critical national infrastructures and agency in global Artificial Intelligence (AI) race dynamics. Her research is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council Grand Union Doctoral Training Partnership Studentship and Balliol College Dervorguilla Scholarship.

Prior to starting her DPhil in 2021, Virginia earned an MPhil in International Relations with Distinction from the University of Oxford and a BA in International Relations with First Class Honours from the War Studies Department at King's College London. She is currently working as a Graduate Research Assistant in Oxford's Department of Politics and International Relations and has previously worked as a research collaborator for an academic think tank, the Centre for Cyber Security and International Relations Studies (CCSIRS), as well as interned at the Embassy of Italy in the United Kingdom.
