Jade is a DPhil candidate in International Relations. Her research centres on the governance of general purpose dual-use technologies, with a specific focus on advanced artificial intelligence in the US and China. She focuses on the critical actor dynamics between multinational private technology companies and state actors with the view to understanding how the nature of these inter-actor dynamics translates into dual-use risk mitigation, and the safe and ethical deployment of dual-use technologies.
Jade is a research affiliate with the Centre for Technology and Global Affairs, amd a researcher with the Governance of Artificial Intelligence Program at the Future of Humanity Institute. She has a background in engineering, international law, and policy design and evaluation.
