Summer Institute in Quantitative Methods
With generous support from the Nuffield Foundation, ESRC, and HEFCE, the Q-Step Centre at the University of Oxford hosts an annual summer institute in quantitative methods. The Oxford Q-Step Centre is one of 15 centres at universities in the UK established to promote a step-change in quantitative social science training. The Summer Institute offers undergraduate social science students from universities across the UK, but particularly those without an existing Q-Step Centre, an opportunity to access hands-on training in quantitative methods, through lectures and data-labs with world-leading teachers and researchers of quantitative methods. This programme is targeted at students with little prior background and training in statistics and research design.
This one-week summer program will be held from Monday 25 June to Friday 29 June 2018. Accommodation will be provided by Lady Margaret Hall, located just steps from the River Cherwell in north central Oxford. The course and accommodation are offered free of charge, however, participants are responsible for their travel arrangements and their dinners. Applications are due Tuesday 17 April 2018.
