Johanna Kuhlmann is a postdoctoral researcher at the Collaborative Research Centre 1342 „Global Dynamics of Social Policy“, University of Bremen. Her research focuses on comparative social policy and theories of the policy process, with a special focus on the role of causal mechanisms in both fields. She received her PhD in political science at the University of Muenster in 2016.
Johanna’s work has appeared in a number of journals such as Policy Studies Journal, Policy and Society, and Global Social Policy. Moreover, she has co-edited the Routledge Handbook of European Welfare Systems (published in 2020).
During her time at DPIR, Johanna will work on a paper on the role of causal mechanisms in actor-centred approaches to comparative social policy.
