Simone Cremaschi

Simone Cremaschi is a Departmental Lecturer in Comparative European Politics in the Department of Politics and International Relations and an Associate Member of Nuffield College. His research combines statistical analysis and ethnographic fieldwork to study political discontent, immigration, and place-based politics in Western Europe. 

His work has been published in the American Political Science Review, the American Journal of Political Science, the Journal of Politics, and Comparative Political Studies, among other journals. It has been recognised with multiple awards from leading professional associations and featured in international media outlets including the Financial Times, The Guardian, and The Economist. He received his PhD from the European University Institute in 2020. 

Before joining Oxford, he was a postdoctoral researcher at Bocconi University and held visiting positions at Columbia University, the WZB Berlin Social Science Center, and ETH Zurich.
