The department is committed to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) within a supportive and respectful working and learning environment. EDI is at the heart of our mission, and we are dedicated to ensuring that all staff and students feel valued, respected, and able to bring their authentic selves to the community.
As part of our onboarding process, we provide a comprehensive induction to help you settle into your role, the department, and the wider university. An important element of this is a dedicated EDI induction, designed to familiarise you with key legislation, including the Equality Act 2010, and to highlight our expectations and commitment in this area.
Our EDI Officer, Matt Gooch, is jointly based with the Oxford Department of International Development (ODID) and will be in touch to arrange your EDI induction within your first weeks of employment.
To support you further, you will also receive an EDI New Staff Information Booklet, which will act as a useful reference guide during your early months as you become familiar with the department.
