How does a younger generation see Europe today, and what kind of Europe does it envisage for the future? Inspired by the book Reversing the Gaze, this event brings together students to reflect on Europe from the perspective of a generation coming of age amid profound political, social and geopolitical change. Moving beyond established narratives and conventional approaches to European affairs, the discussion will explore how young people understand European identity, belonging and the challenges facing the continent. What does Europe represent to a generation shaped by global uncertainty, technological transformation and changing political expectations? How do their experiences and aspirations challenge traditional understandings of Europe? Placing students' voices at the centre of the conversation, the event offers an opportunity to reconsider Europe through the eyes of those who will help shape its future.
