This month, Turkish voters are making a decision that will determine the country’s fate for the next 5 years and potentially affect the balance of power in the region and around the world. With their best chance in a generation, the opposition, led by Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, hopes to dismantle President Erdoğan’s legacy in a divided country on the frontlines of democracy.
The Oxford Political Review is excited to host a panel with Ayça Çubukçu, Associate Professor in Human Rights and Co-Director of LSE Human Rights; Dimitar Bechev, Lecturer at the Oxford School of Global and Area and Author of 'Turkey Under Erdoğan’; Amberin Zaman, Senior Correspondent for Al-Monitor; Soli Ozel, Senior Lecturer at Kadir Has University; and Ceren Lord, British Academy Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Oxford's Department of Politics and International Relations. The panelists will discuss the results after the 2nd round of voting on Sunday, and unpack what this all means for Turkey and the world.
