Fellows' responses:
"This has been a "once-in-a-lifetime" experience that will leave and has already left a deep sense of gratitude. Thank you again for the excellent support you have offered!"
Daniel Maier
"The Fellowship was extraordinarily valuable, not only to myself as a Fellow, but also for sharing much of the knowledge gained with colleagues back in our peacekeeping missions. This aspect should be captured in the months to come as a valuable outcome of the Fellowship."
Milbert D. Shin
"It was the best learning experience I had since I joined the UN. I am very grateful for being part of it. I will always be available to contribute to future fellowships or other DPIR initiatives."
Caihong Wang
"Great matching of Academic Mentor and fellow! My thanks to DPIR, the donors, Professor Richard Caplan, Professor Laura Sjoberg, for their academic guidance, intellectual engagement, and institutional support throughout the fellowship."
Sheila Keetharuth
"This was an outstanding programme. It was rigorous without being rigid, and it brought together academic enquiry, practical experience and collegial exchange in a way that is rare. Every aspect of the fellowship was thoughtfully provided for.
The Department of Politics and International Relations offered an environment in which Fellows could reflect, test ideas and develop work of practical relevance to the United Nations.
The fellowship should continue on an ongoing basis. It strengthens the links between academic research and multilateral practice, while also creating a network of practitioners who can carry these discussions back into their respective contexts. I would strongly support its continuation and expansion, and would be pleased to assist future cohorts in any useful capacity.
