Alumnus Robin Markwica, DPhil in International Relations, has received the APSA International Security Best Book from a Non-Tenured Faculty Member Award. His book, Emotional choices: How the logic of affect shapes coercive diplomacy (Oxford University Press, 2018), develops “emotional choice theory” as a third action model alongside traditional rational choice and constructivist perspectives. Dr Markwica is currently a Max Weber Fellow in the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies at the European University Institute.
