DPIR alumna becomes Canada's Minister of International Development

The Honourable Karina Gould, PC MP (MPhil in International Relations, 2011), has been appointed as Minister of International Development in the Canadian Cabinet

 

Ms Gould was first elected as the Member of Parliament for Burlington in 2015, and became the youngest female cabinet minister in history when appointed as Minister of Democratic Institutions at the age of 29. Before her career in politics, she worked as a trade and investment specialist, including for the Mexican Trade Commission in Toronto.
