Dr Sudhir Hazareesingh interviewed about the golden age of French philosophy

Sudhir Hazareesingh appeared on BBC Radio 4's 'Thinking Allowed' programme (24 June), discussing the prominence of thinkers in the life and history of France and asking how intellectuals, from Voltaire to Foucault, have contributed to the distinctiveness of the nation.


Sudhir draws on ideas and themes from his new book, published today: 'How the French Think: An Affectionate Portrait of an Intellectual People'.
