The Department of Politics and International Relations is the top-ranked Politics department in the UK in The Guardian newspaper`s annual university guide, just published, ahead of Cambridge and the LSE. The University of Oxford retains its ranking as the UK`s best university in The Guardian`s guide.
The research, compiled by The Guardian and Campus Pi, an applied research department at Brunel University, revealed that for the second year running Oxford has beaten Cambridge to the top spot, with London institutions receiving five places in the top 10.
The research examined by The Guardian and Campus Pi assesses teaching, staff-student ratio, job prospects, spending per student, the value-added improvement each university grants its students and the record on attracting candidates from under-represented groups.
