Our congratulations go to Des on his successful application to the Leverhulme Trust for a Major Research Fellowship; only 25 of these fellowships are awarded each year. His project is entitled: The American State: An Analytical Narrative History and will begin in the next academic year; the Department will be employing a replacement to cover Des teaching for the next four years, to be advertised this term.
