Professor Jeremy Waldron and Professor Andrew Hurrell elected Fellows of the British Academy for 2011

Jeremy Waldon and Andrew Hurrell have been elected Fellows of the British Academy, it was announced on Friday. Sir Adam Roberts, president of the BA and a former Department member, said I congratulate all the distinguished Fellows who have been elected to the Academy this year, on achieving this peer group recognition of the outstanding contribution theyve made to scholarship and research in the humanities or social sciences. Election is not only an honour, but also a beginning. I look forward to their active participation in the life and work of the Academy.


Previous department members who have been elected to the British Academy include Professor Vernon Bogdanor, Dr David Butler, Professor Gerald Cohen, Professor Rosemary Foot, Dr Sudhir Hazareesingh, Professor Christopher Hood, Professor Desmond King, Professor David Marquand, Professor Iain McLean, Professor David Miller, Professor Sir Adam Roberts, Professor Alan Ryan and Professor Avi Shlaim.
