Two members of the Department become fellows of the British Academy

Professor Avi Shlaim and Dr Sudhir Hazareesingh have been granted an Ordinary Fellowship of the British Academy, July 2006.

Fellowships of the British Academy are named at the Annual General Meeting in July. Ordinary Fellows are scholars who have `attained distinction in any of the branches of study which it is the object of the Academy to promote`. Up to thirty-five fellows are elected each year.

Several other members of the Department have been granted an Ordinary Fellowship from the British Academy, including:
