Walter Mattli named the Brettschneider Scholar

Date
Walter Mattli (Professor of International Political Economy in the Department of Politics and International Relations and Official Fellow of St. Johns College) was named the Brettschneider Scholar by The Institute for European Studies at Cornell University. The award sponsors a week long visit this spring at Cornell during which Walter will have the opportunity to give a public lecture, present his current research in a graduate seminar, and interact with Cornells undergraduate and graduate students.

This award is part of a new initiative launched by the Institute for European Studies at Cornell University known as Abraham and Henrietta Brettschneider Oxford Exchange Fund. This fund was made available by a generous gift from a Cornell Alumnus and is intended to promote scholarly interchange by bringing prominent Oxford academics to Cornell for short visits.

Walter has published on European legal integration, comparative regional integration, EU enlargement, international commercial dispute resolution, and globalization and international governance. He is currently working on a book project entitled The Political Economy of International Standards Setting.
