I completed my Bachelor's degrees in International Politics and Philosophy at Renmin University of China. After that, I obtained two Master's degrees from Peking University (International Relations) and the London School of Economics and Political Science (International History).

For my DPhil thesis, I am interested in why China's maritime disputes have remained unsettled.  This project will investigate both historical and contemporary developments, and it will mainly adopt research methods of case study (process tracing), primary source (archival) research, and field research & interviews. Apart from maritime disputes, I am broadly interested in IR theories, East Asia security, and Chinese politics and foreign policy.
