Elizabeth Talbot Russ is reading for an MPhil in International Relations. She is broadly interested in climate change, conflict, and the role of the domestic and individual spheres in international relations. At Oxford, she works as a project associate for the United Nations Academic Impact Hub on Peace and Conflict Resolution. She has additionally worked as a research assistant for Dr. Hussam Hussein for several projects on transboundary water governance. 

Elizabeth earned her Bachelor of Arts from The Ohio State University in 2020, with a double-major in international studies (international relations and diplomacy) and Arabic, with a minor in Spanish. While an undergraduate she studied Arabic and peace and conflict in Jordan, and worked as an associate at the Mershon Center for International Security Studies. 

Elizabeth has worked extensively with refugee and immigrant youth in Columbus, Ohio, both by serving as a mentor and facilitating programs aimed at improving immigrant access into the American higher education system.

She is acknowledged as a research assistant in the 2021 Socius article: “Repertoires of Terror: News Media Classification of Militant Groups, 1970 to 2013”
