Inger Isabella Storm Sandboe
Research Topic:
Ms Sandboe is a Dphil student in International Relations at the University of Oxford and a member of the Changing Character of War Centre.
She is specialising in the radicalisation of lone-actor terrorists and the role of communities in this process. Beyond her current research she has strong interests in political psychology, crisis management, and peace building processes.
Ms Sandboe earned her undergraduate degree in Peace Studies and International Relations from Lancaster University in England. She then completed her first postgraduate degree in Political Sciences w/Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Oslo in Norway, followed by an MLitt in Global Social and Political Thought at the University of St Andrews in Scotland.
In the spring of 2025, she was a visiting researcher at the Centre for Research on Extremism in Norway. Set up by the government in the aftermath of the 2011 terror attacks in Norway, it endeavours to research extremist behaviour and movements. There she contributed to their research platform RightNow! She also has prior research experience from the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Moonshot CVE, working on threat assessments and the technological efforts for counter terrorism.
