MPhil European Politics and Society

I am an MPhil student in European Politics and Society, interested in democratic backsliding, the European Union, and Central and Eastern Europe. Specifically, my research investigates the intersection of public administration and democratic erosion in the region. My other research interests include soft power in international relations and the politics of memory in post-communist states.

Before coming to Oxford, I obtained a B.A in International Studies from American University's School of International Service, with a regional concentration on Europe and Eurasia and thematic concentrations on Environmental Sustainability and Global Health and Global and Comparative Governance. I have professional experience in communications as a Fellow at Evergreen Strategy Group and a Strategic Communications Intern at the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, among other positions. I have also worked with political campaigns in the U.S. and human rights NGOs in Eastern Europe and Central Asia as a research, outreach and advocacy assistant.
