I research the impact of scientific expertise on three areas of US foreign policy during the early Cold War: US efforts to modernise Latin America through the Alliance for Progress, its financial and technical support for population control programmes in the developing world, and its negotiation of the Partial Test Ban Treaty with the Soviet Union. I specialise in the Eisenhower and Kennedy administrations.

I hold a MPhil in International Relations with distinction from Oxford and a first class BA in Anthropology from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
