MPhil Political Theory

Osamede Ogbomo is an MPhil student in Political Theory and a Barry Scholar. Her research interests include natural rights, human flourishing, and political leadership. She is broadly interested in how ideas about human nature and the good shape political institutions, public discourse, and responses to social and technological change.

Her current research examines Frederick Douglass’s conception of equality, particularly as it relates to natural rights, human dignity, and human agency.

Before Oxford, Osamede studied Political Theory at Princeton University, where her undergraduate thesis explored how political leaders confront moral failure, using the biblical King David to develop an account of “political repentance.”
