I am an MPhil candidate in Politics (European Politics and Society) at St Antony’s College, University of Oxford. My thesis aims to explain cross-national differences in public salience of European politics through long-term influences. I am also interested in US politics, education and political sociology. I currently work as a research assistant, focusing on the education system in the Netherlands for the SCHOOLPOL project led by Professor Jane Gingrich.

Before Oxford, I obtained a BSc in Politics: International Relations and Organisations at Leiden University, where I also participated in the Honours program. Before, during and after my Bachelor's studies, I worked as a broadcast journalist for several Dutch national media, and as a press secretary/spokesperson in the Dutch parliament, government and the NGO sector. I have also interned at the NOS Dutch Public Broadcasting's Washington DC Bureau in the US.

Outside of class, I am a theme section editor for the 16.2 issue of St Antony's International Review (STAIR), which focuses on social movements. Furthermore, I am MPhil European Politics course representative, and chair of the Graduate Joint Consultative Committee (GJCC) at the DPIR. During my first year at Oxford, I also rowed for the St Antony's College Rowing Team in the Christ Church Regatta, and I led a team of student consultants during a project for a London-based client.
