I am researching theories of race/racialisation, Northern (geordie) identities and constructions of the white working class in the North East of England. I build on theories (and debates) on racial capitalism developed from Stuart Hall, Cedric Robinson, A.Sivanandan and other radical scholars. Before my DPhil I completed an MSc in Modern South Asian Studies at the University of Oxford and a BA in Politics and International Relations at Northumbria University.

In my spare time I work with creative arts charities to organise creative writing groups for working class women of colour.
