Sofía Sam is reading an MPhil in Politics (Comparative Government). Her main interests in this field are political psychology, social norms, and Latin American politics. Her thesis research project examines how attitudes towards authoritarian policies are formed at the micro-level through an online experiment conducted with subjects from a survey panel in Peru. Sofía wishes to understand the roles of crime-related insecurity and social norms in shaping political attitudes.

Sofía holds a BFA in Drama from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. She is a founding board member of Imaginarium Theatre Company Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to creating opportunities for new talent and pursuing philanthropic goals through the performing arts. She is also an incumbent member of the Oxford Peruvian Society's executive committee, where she handles finances, social media management, and event planning.
