Vanessa Meier
Research Topic:
I am a DPhil candidate in International Relations at St Antony's College and a Clarendon Scholar. I have previously completed an MPhil in International Relations at Oxford and hold a BA in Public Management & Governance from Zeppelin University in Germany. As part of my undergraduate degree, I spent a semester at Sciences Po Paris.
My research interest lies in international security and conflict studies with my current work examining the causes and consequences of external support to civil war parties. I am particularly interested in the effect of different types of military intervention on conflict dynamics, such as the targeting of civilians.
I gained first professional experience working for the German Foreign Ministry, the German Commission for UNESCO, and a political foundation.
