To mark Parliament Week, sixth form students from nine schools across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire joined a workshop and panel event at the Bodleian Library to ask questions about the relationship between the UK and the European Union.

Staff and students from the Department of Politics and International Relations led the opening workshop for the 90 students, looking at critical junctures and policy tensions in Britain’s post-war relationship with Europe and the implications of Brexit for Parliament. The workshop was followed by a panel discussion that continued the debate on Brexit and UK-EU relations with Rt Hon Kenneth Clarke MP, Will Straw (Executive Director of the Stronger In campaign), Caroline Lees (Editor of the Reuters Institute’s European Journalism Observatory), and BBC journalist Chris Bowlby.
