Book edited by Adam Roberts and Timothy Garton Ash cited in the Times of India

Date

Civil Resistance and Power Politics: The Experience of Nonviolent Action from Gandhi to the Present (OUP), edited by Adam Roberts and Timothy Garton Ash, was cited in an article in the Times of India (26 February) on how revolutions start.

The book and the article suggest that non-violent movements hardly ever succeed on their own, and that an interconnected web exists between civil resistance and other forms of power.

The article is available to read here.

Adam Roberts is Emeritus Professor of International Relations at Oxford University, and an emeritus fellow at Balliol College.

Timothy Garton Ash is an alumnus of Exeter College, Oxford and St Antonys College, Oxford.
