DPhil student Anette Stimmer recognised by ISA
Anette Stimmer (DPhil in International Relations) has had her work recognised by the International Studies Association (ISA) – winning one award, and receiving a separate Honorable Mention.
Ms Stimmer has won the ISA Theory Section 2018 Conference Pre-PhD Award which highlights “excellent work in theorizing international politics across the plurality of theoretical approaches”. Her winning paper, ‘"Norm life cycle" or "norm square"? Changes in the norms of territorial integrity and sovereignty in the post-Cold War Era’, was presented at the ISA Annual Convention 2017 in San Francisco, USA.
In addition, Ms Stimmer has received an Honorable Mention in the 2018 Patricia Weitsman Award for Outstanding International Security Studies Section Graduate Paper.
Ms Stimmer’s research focuses on debates over the meaning of international norms and their implications for norm strength, as well as on factors that can curb or fuel contestation.
