Each year, the University of Oxford recognises academic excellence with the Recognition of Distinction Scheme. This year, we are delighted to announce that the title of full professor has been conferred upon Professor Neil Ketchley (Professor of Politics) and Professor Tarik Abou-Chadi (Professor of European Politics).
Neil’s primary research focuses on social movements and collective protest in the Arabic-speaking Middle East and North Africa. Tarik focuses primarily on elections, political parties, and the transformation of political competition and democratic representation in post-industrial societies.
David Doyle, new Head of Department, said:
These are wonderful and well-earned achievements. I am delighted for Tarik and Neil. It is fantastic to have two new Professors in the Department.”
