Oxford top in politics in UK league table of universities
DPIR has maintained the top spot in the Complete University Guide subject rankings 2022 for politics, with an overall score of 100%.
The Department maintained its number one spot from the previous year and scored 100% for entry standards, 83% for research quality, 97% for research intensity and 90% for graduate prospects.
It fought off stiff competition from Cambridge in second place with 95% overall, and St Andrews in third place with 93% overall.
Nicholas Owen, joint head of the Department, said: “It's great to see DPIR ranked top in the latest Complete University Guide subject rankings. League tables don't measure everything that matters, but we're always pleased to get recognition for the quality of our research and teaching. I'm grateful for the deep commitment, year after year, from our staff and students, which makes it possible.”
