I am an MPhil candidate in International Relations and a member of St Cross College, where I also work as an External Relations Representative.

My main research interests include foreign and security policy in Eastern Europe and strategic culture theory. At the moment, I am researching the role of strategic culture in shaping the government responses in Eastern Europe to the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine, with a particular focus on military support. In my study of strategic culture, I rely mostly on practice theory and computational approaches to discourse analysis.

Before joining the DPIR, I received my BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from King's College London, where I focused on the politics of alliance formation and military coalition-building. During this time, I have also completed a research internship at the Université du Québec à Montréal, collecting data on the participation of Eastern European states in the war against Daesh. I continue working with my former supervisor and have recently co-authored a paper on the international provision of military support to Ukraine, and another on the executive-legislative dynamics of troop deployments, both accepted to the International Studies Association Conference in March 2023.

Apart from research, I enjoy photography, travel writing, and evenings with friends. I spend most of my time between Oxford, Montréal, and Bratislava, where I come from. My degree is supported by the Martin Filko Scholarship funded by the Slovak government.
