DPhil Politics

I am a DPhil candidate in Politics and a Clarendon Scholar. My supervisors are Federica Genovese and David Rueda. I work in comparative political economy, with a focus on climate policy in rich democracies. My thesis examines how electoral incentives and organised interest groups interact when governments impose costs today for benefits that accrue in the future. My other research studies how economic shocks affect support for the populist right and the political economy of state capacity. I hold an MPhil in Comparative Government from Oxford, where I graduated with distinction and received the Archibald Jackson Prize, and a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Warwick. My work has appeared or is forthcoming in Economics Letters, the Journal of European Public Policy, and the Oxford Review of Economic Policy, and in outlets including VoxEU, ProMarket, and the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
