I am a second-year in the MPhil International Relations program at St Antony’s College. I am a Fellow at the University Consortium, and, together with my colleague Alexander Beck, I serve as Course Representative for my graduate cohort. My primary area of interest is Russia and Eastern Europe. Broadly speaking, I am interested in the role that ideas play in establishing conceptual categories through which “politics” is enacted. My thesis focuses on early Soviet military-political thought by applying the concept of “ontology of war” to understand how ideology and discourse create the frames through which military policy, strategy, and foreign policy are invented and conducted.

I hold a BA from the University of Pennsylvania, where I graduated summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa in International Relations and Russian & East European Studies. I also hold an MA from the European University at St. Petersburg in Russian & Eurasian Studies, where I studied on a full scholarship. During my studies, I worked as a research assistant on various projects ranging from medieval studies, Russian cultural studies, and political science.

Prior to Oxford, I worked as an adjunct lecturer at Collegium Civitas (now Uniwersytet Civitas) in Warsaw, Poland.
