Senkai Hsia
Senkai Hsia is studying for an MPhil in International Relations as a Rotary Foundation Scholar. Under the supervision of Professor Ranjit Lall, Senkai's research examines evolving U.S. economic strategy with Indo-Pacific allies, alongside broad interests in American foreign policy, international political economy and U.S.-China relations.
Before Oxford, Senkai was a researcher at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, where he co-authored several reports including Implementing the Biden Administration's China Strategy (with Christopher S. Chivvis). His public service experience includes roles on the policy staff of the 2024 Harris presidential campaign, the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and the U.S. Department of Transportation. Currently, he is a research assistant to former U.S. Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines.
Senkai received a BA in International Relations and a BS in Mechanical Engineering with distinctions from Stanford University, where he served on the search committee which selected the university's thirteenth president.
