DPIR’s Professor Andrea Ruggeri receives Teaching Excellence Award

Professor of Political Science and International Relations Andrea Ruggeri has won an Excellence in Supervision Award in the 2021-22 Divisional Teaching Excellence Awards.

The Social Sciences Division announced on Monday the winners of the awards, which recognise an exceptional contribution to education by colleagues at any career-stage.

Professor Ruggeri said: “I am truthfully honoured to receive this award, knowing also the quality of other incredible supervisors.

“I am aware that serving as graduate supervisor is a privilege – especially here in Oxford -  because we have outstanding early career scholars. I’d like to dedicate this award to all first generation students – like me – who have to tackle on a daily basis their silly impostor syndrome. You are amazing, you rock.”

While announcing the awardees, the Division said it also wanted to acknowledge the tremendous amount of work achieved by many people over the past year.

Professor Timothy Power, Head of the Social Sciences Division, added: "I am delighted to see such inspiring work from colleagues across the Division. Many congratulations to everyone who has received an award this year for their impressive contributions to teaching and learning."
