Dr Annette Idler discusses the disarming of the Colombian FARC rebels

Annette Idler has appeared on the BBC World Service (29 August) to discuss the implications of the FARC ceasefire that was taking place almost simultaneously with her interview.

Annette pointed out that the ceasefire also encompassed an end to all hostilities against civilians, including extortion and kidnapping, and she gave a broad overview as to how this guerrilla organisation, that has been fighting the Colombian government for 52 years, can logistically end its operations and integrate into civilian life.
