Dr Annette Idler discusses the new deal between the FARC and the Colombian government

Annette Idler has appeared in an interview on the ‘World Update’ programme of BBC World Service radio (23 November).

She was asked how the new deal between the Colombian government and the FARC rebels differs from the one that was recently rejected in a public referendum.  She mentioned that the new deal addresses 56 of the 57 concerns raised by the ‘No’ campaign, including whether the FARC organisation will be obliged to cooperate with the government over the drugs trade, and whether income made by FARC will be handed over and used to help pay reparations for the victims.
