New research network focussing on issues key to global contemporary progressive politics involving DPIR launches

A new research network involving DPIR’s Tarik Abou-Chadi and casting the spotlight on key modern progressive political ideologies has been established.

The Progressive Politics Research Network launched last month and is a collective of social science researchers whose aim is to make academic research more accessible and understandable by a wider audience.

The network’s core team comprises: DPIR’S Associate Professor in European Union and Comparative European Politics Tarik Abou-Chadi, Professor Jane Gingrich (University of Oxford), Macarena Ares (University of Barcelona), Björn Bremer (Central European University), Professor Dr Silja Häusermann (University of Zurich), and Professor Hanna Schwander (Humboldt University Berlin).

A launch event was held last month in which network members discussed the findings of their new research briefs.

With the network we want to make sure that research on pressing questions of our time finds its way to a broader audience and to political practitioners.

“In a first round of research briefs, we debunk some myths around progressive politics based on evidence from our research.”
